We begin with a thorough assessment: measuring stump diameter at ground level, noting species and decay, spotting surface roots, slopes, and obstacles, and confirming safe equipment access. When needed, utility locates are coordinated and protective mats are used to safeguard lawns and hardscapes.
Grinding is performed to the depth required for your plans—typically 6–8 inches for turf restoration, 10–12 inches for shrubs, and up to 12–18 inches when replanting a tree or eliminating persistent roots. We can trace and grind prominent surface roots, handle multiple stumps efficiently, and work in tight gates or sensitive areas with compact, tracked equipment.
After grinding, we rake and consolidate mulch, then either haul it away or leave it as landscape mulch per your preference. On request, we backfill with screened topsoil, rough grade, and prep for seed or sod. A final walkthrough confirms the work area is clean, level, and ready for your next project.
